View Full Version : Heavy Condensation on RO

Hello all,
I have an RO attached to a float valve for evaporation water replacement to
my sump. I noticed that when the water source is on, the pressure is at
70-75 psi however when the float valve closes the line, the pressure drops
to around 30-40psi and there is a large amount of condensation gathering on
the unit. So much that I keep a towel under the unit to catch any drip off.

Is heavy condensation normal? If so, what kind of solutions are out there?
Is a closed float valve pressure of ~40psi normal? I seem to remember it
closing down to 0psi during the initial filling of the tank.

FYI, the water source is directly plumbed under the house and up through the
floor to a faucet under the tank.

Thank you,
Justin

I do not experience any condensation on any of my RO [DI] unit. But I would
guess the feed line or your water must be coming from the outside of your
resident must be really cold that would cause this condensation. Again, this
just my guess. If I assumed correctly, try to have a extra line before input
of your RO unit as a coil. Put that coil in a deep bucket with heater and
see if that will fix it. This may fix your condensation on the RO unit line
where it will cause water drip when get warm or room temperature.
