View Full Version : Losing my LTA
Mort

I bought a Long Tenticle Anemone from the LFS about 2 months ago. I gave up
trying to place the thing as it would not stay in the sand. It eventually
settled in a nook and crannie between a couple of rocks and appears to have
attached to one of the ROCKS which is not normal for an LTA from what I
understand.
Anyway, I have tried feeding it Squid, Silversides and freeze dried shrimp.
It will not take any of them.
Basically, it has not eaten since I've had it and I think it's starting to
die.
The mouth is almost always open and it's looking really bad. It
occasionally looks like it is turning inside out through it's mouth.
Any suggestions? I'd hate to let this thing go but it just doesnt eat what
I am feeding it.
TIA

You don't mention lighting. What kind do you have? Any clowns hosting in
it?

I checked last night and to my surprise they were elevated. About 25ppm.
I guess it's time to get rid of those foam pads on the inlets of my pumps.

They need to be cleaned often, maybe every 4 days. But 25ppm shouldn't be
enough to kill an LTA, I'm guessing. Maybe it is a lack of good lighting?
