I just put in a couple small pieces of LR about a month ago, loaded with
life, bristleworms, small fanworms, etc... but today i noticed what looked
like a starfish. Except that it only had two arms, and 3 little nubs. The
arms are only about a 1/2" in length while the nubs are less than an 1/16".
its body is light tan, with a large dark tan/brown spot. I saw it on the
glass and the underside looked very similar to a starfish.

Is this a starfish, and if so what kind?

TIA
Chris

I am with the (many ) other people that disagre with Garf.. Most of those stars
are detritivores and bio-film eaters.

After rummaging around the net last night i couldnt find anything conclusive
about this guy. But I am glutten for punishment and hate removing invert
life that grows in my tank, so i will probably just watch closely and see
what it does. hopefully its a good starfish, especially since i got the rock
that he came in on from a guy who aquacultures various corals.
