View Full Version : Protein Skimmer Recommendation - 215 Reef Oceanic
Hi -
I have a 215 reef tank (details at
http://home.comcast.net/~fish.tank/)
I'm getting lots of cynobacteria, which I'm fairly certain is due to
undersized protein skimmer.
I'm looking at ETSS 800.
Any recomendations or thoughts?

maybee or maybee not, you dont *NEED* a skimmer to combat cyno, but it wont hurt and will
help

I have many ETSS and like them all.. I have a 600, gemini 800, an 1000, an
1100, and a 1400. (Ive used older reef devils.) I would say that the 600 has
been my favorite. I really like some of the becket skimmers too. GEO is great
to work with. I also have a few needle wheels and they ROCK. I would go with
the ASM over the euroreef and save the cash. I also have 2 AQUa -C skimmers.
The rest of the group here likes the AQUA C, but of the 4 that I have mentioned
th eAQUA c would rate a 2 while the others would rate an 8 or higher on a scale
of 10. I just replaced on of my aqua c's with a PM bullet2 and am happy with
that tank again.
Good Luck ( the 800 will be a good choice)( clean the balls every 6 months or
so)
