My tank is currently as follows:

75 US gal FOWLR
30 gal sump with caulerpa, will slowly morph into a 'fuge as $
allows.

4x40 NO flourescent

1 Yellow tang
4 yellowtail damsel
1 blue chromis damsel
1 percula clown (new today, he's so cute, seems to have already
staked out his territory, the tang seems to really like him, has been
hanging out near him and acting motherly)
1 emerald crab
1 choc star
margarita snails (stupid! I hate them)(about 15)
blue leg hermits(about 40)

My question re: the solo blue damsel is I bought 3, and due to a noob
mistake right after cycleing, I lost his buddies. Will he be okay
(read: emotionaly healthy) all alone, or should I consider removing
him or getting a couple more blues?
Regarding the hermits, I've been unable to find concrete info one way
or another telling me if I will need to provide the hermits with
shells to move into, and if so, what kind of shells, and where best
to aquire them.

many TIA

consider local reefers for refugium support, often a healthy refugium will have plenty to
share a little at low cost

they will be ok, in any number (up to the capacity of your tank but you knew that !!!)

depends on which hermits, if they are a young version of the huge ones, yep you need
shells, if there adults then more likely not, if your talking the < $1 each little blue
or red legs then more likely you might want a few shells for a ton of hermits.
