View Full Version : Not enough breezes?

Yesterday I plugged my three maxi-jets into a power strip that
alternates at twenty second intervals, giving the corals only one third
of the amount of water action they were having. Today, almost all of
them have gone into shrivel mode. I tried to get them to relax with
some tantalizing food, but it didn't work. No other changes were made.
Was this not a good idea and would you experienced reefkeepers advise
that that I put the plugs back into an ordinary powerstrip?

When mine do that from different experiments I turn the lights off for a
while, and after some time they bounce back.

A sudden change in the environment can upset them.

They have to adjust to a change. Give them a few days, and if they still don't
look good, revert to what worked before.

Thanks Skozzy and Marc

I panicked and have all three running at once again. That's what I get
for trying to avoid shipping costs; I buy what I don't need to make the
bill over 100$ and then pay shipping to return what I shouldn't have
bought. Very smart.
