You have frogs which eat fish? I must say I find that rather unlikely.

Yeah I highly doubt the frogs are eating fish. More likely a raccoon or
bird.

You haven't heard of bull-frogs?

"Bullfrogs are predators. They usually eat snakes, worms, insects,
crustaceans, frogs, tadpoles, and aquatic eggs of fish, frogs,
insects, or salamanders."

Yes absolutely. If you read what you posted it clearly states what they eat.
Fish are no where in there. Eggs of fish. NOT fish.

Bullfrogs will eat fish. I "saw" them do it!

This is true. I saw them eat a koi with my own eyes before we netted our
ponds. They're a constant problem in the tubs I raise my Shubunkins in.

A good size arowana will love eating those frogs... if your pond is warm
enough for them. The Asian red and gold ones are far prettier than the
American silver ones, but they aren't really an option unless you have
depthless pockets and paid guards patrolling your pond. ;)
Alternatively, a BB gun and a lot of time to waste will make an impact on
the frog population too.

And the fish he's trying to protect. :)

You call yourself a Canadian, but you obviously don't have much of a
familiarity with the outdoors. The bullfrogs we have in Ontario get quite
large, and will greedily shove anything that moves, smells, or shines into
their mouth, fish included.
I've caught many a bullfrog on 6"+ Rapala lures while fishing for pike
amongst weed beds in the summer time. They attack without hesitation when
the opportunity at a meal presents itself.
Frogs are patient predators, and unsuspecting fish fry can quickly vanish
if the frog population is large enough.

Yeah... but arowana are much cooler than koi anyway. :D

What about the rubber pond liner? You don't want to hit that.

=======================
When I caught a bullfrog that had eaten a young koi, the fish measured over
6" long and was in as S shape in the frog. I pried the frogs mouth open and
the tail was easily seen and grasped. It was of course too late. The fish
was already dead. I took the frog (and all the bullfrogs I can catch) to a
nearby lake. I take as many of their tadpoles as possible to the lake as
well. To cut back on their numbers I'm going to stop propagating pond
plants. The tubs I use are always crawling away with frogs and tadpoles.
It's not just the loss of young fish to them, but the noise in spring and
summer is becoming a nuisance. I do have to consider my neighbors.
