My Eheim filter has started leaking recently. It's four years old, and
has been in use constantly all that time.

It's fine as long as it's running, but when unplugged, it starts
leaking. I think from under the head. Today I there was a power
outage when I was at work. When I got home, the bottom of my tankstand
was filled with water.

I took the filter apart, cleaned it, and cleaned the seals, but it
still leaks when it's not running. Do I need new seals? Or is it time
to replace the entire filter?

You probably just need a new rubber O-ring. Do you practice wetting the O-
ring when you replace the pump head after cleaning the filter? If the seal
isn't wet before the head is put on it will eventually wear and may cause
leaks.
