View Full Version : Can you have too much skimmer?

I've got a 29G FO, with trickle filter. I'm wanting to add a protien
skimmer, most
likely a Remora ... but thought about getting a Remora PRO so when I get
the funds
to get that 75 or 90 to do my FOWLR I can have something with enough power.
Would a Remora PRO be too much for a 29, or can you never be overpowered
w/ a skimmer? The one thing that would seem to be obvious is that the
pump may
be higher wattage and add more heat to the tank.
Thx.

the euroreef CS12-6 might be overskimming a 29 maybee
its a small skimmer rated at only 800 gallons :D

thats about the only real concern, well that and fitting it on the tank as the 12-6 is
HUGE

I run a Remora Pro on a 29g, and it just skims what it can. When it is clean,
the skimmer doesn't do much of anything.
