I was in my LFS and he had a F/O tank set up with fake coral, about
18-24" tall. Very impressive. However he was selling them for about $200
each. Needless to say they go in a large tank. Where can I get these
cheap on the internet.
Thanks, in advance.

hopefully nowhere.. they are usually taken from a live reef and killed , just
to be sold as decoration.. then th ereef/aquarium hobby/industry gets blamed
for killing corals.

While Rod is correct that some and it use to be all corals were taken alive
and bleach. A majority are now made of plastic. Check your fish magazines
like FAMA and you should be able to find a big group of people selling
plastic corals. Here are some links I don't know if they will come up
though:

Yeah, those large elkhorns are a personal favorite of mine. I used to have
some fake coral in my tank before I started converting it to a reef.
I was very pleased with that I got from drsfostersmith.com
I hope this link will work...

Where I am here in Australia, you can buy Fake Corals made from a resin type
base.
Not harmful to any reef anywhere as far as I can see, But I can see it
saving Corals that are normally purchased or taken yet cant be cared for
properly....
Cheers
