I have a 125 with about a 4 to 5 inch dsb. It's been up and running about 9
months. Gone through the usual
ups and downs with algae. Everything seems to be coming together now.
My question is,,,Is it ok to run a glass scrapper down into the sand bed
next to the front panel and try and remove some the mess next to the glass,
Its not severe, however it would make the tank look better..I just don't
want to start releasing a bunch of bad stuff into the tank...
Thanks, Roger.

As long as you stay next to the glass and try to disturbe as littas possible,
and if you dont go digging through the rest of the sand bed it should not cause
any problems.

I tried getting next to to the glass with a long handled scrapper and could
only get about 1" down the
glass....
What method has anyone else used to clean the glass in a dsb...
Thanks, Roger

A plastic spatula does a nice job.

What about applying some kind of trim around the bottom of the tank to hide
the ugliness?
You're always going to have cyano and other algaes growing there, and it
will require frequent removal if it is unappealing to you.
