View Full Version : Baby Seahorse? Can't be... Can it?

This guy showed up on the back wall of my tank (which is the wall for
the overflow). I find it a little hard to believe that I might have
gotten a baby seahorse as a hitchhiker on my rock, though. (Most likely
it's some kind of worm that just happened to bend himself into that
shape, I would guess...) He looked to be about 5-6mm long. Getting a
good photo was difficult.

Those are amphipods. They are a sign you have a healthy system.

Thanks. I've been there, and think Marc's done a great job with his
site. I didn't see this guy there though. While I agree that it's
likely a pod, it does have an uncanny resemblance, IMO. :-)

Yes, I can see what you were... and it does look like one, if you didn't realize
that was the hind end, rather than the head!
Here's the best shot I've ever gotten of one, and it only happened a couple of
days ago. Unfortunately it still isn't sharp enough for my standards.
