What is the best HOB overflow? I have a CPR overflow now that has to have a
pump to keep it primed. It has gotten clogged and made a mess in the past.
My tank isn't predrilled, so I need a better alternative.
TIA

The best ones are by Amiracle. They do not need pump to keep it primed.
High velocity water current is pushing all air bubbles out of syphon tube.
To prevent over filling the tank when clogged you can add float switch to turn
off the pump when the water is too high in the tank or too low in the sump.

My LFS drilled my 55 gallon tank, installed an internal overflow box, 2
bulkhead connectors on either end of 8 ft of hose for $35.
Maybe yours will too.

Hope this helps.

Most quality tanks do. They drill the back or side.

My Amiracle works great. It will restart after a water change or power
outage and has never lost its siphon. But I just broke the U-tube with a
cleaning brush so I ordered a Lifereef. It looks like the same design but
flows more, 700gph vs 400. I'll post an update when it arrives next week.

Great!
I have been looking at them online and haven't desided on one yet. I look
forward to your update.
