FWIW, and speaking from experience, a larger tank would be easier.
The rule of thumb, so I'm told, is buy the biggest tank you have
money and room for, for a variety of reasons. The most important one
IMO, is that the smaller the tank, the quicker water params can go to
hell due to the newbie mistakes we all make. It's only in the last
few years that smaller tanks became more than a pipe dream for the
common aquarist. Look up "nano reefs" on Google. Some people can do
amazing things with tiny marine tanks, but it takes some skill, IMO.

It is a good fixture. I have the older version without the "moon lights".
This is a reef light and is more expensive than you need for a FOWLR.
Personally, I don't think a reef tank is very hard to keep. If you want a
reef, start a reef. If you buy that light and add a few mushroom
coralimorpharians you will have a reef.

Where do you all buy your fish and inverts from? A local store or online?

I buy locally, but I live in Florida and have plenty of good local stores.
There are good online suppliers too. If you can get what you want, buying
locally allows you to see what you are buying before you put down money.
Also, if you have a local reef club, you can often get some things like
mushrooms and xenia for free.
