They have been dropping like a rock in the last 6 months or so. I paid $95
for mine early this year and it was the lowest I had ever seen one. It
wasn't long ago that they were $200.00 each

I was observing this crazy prices a year ago
and I was thinking of getting one to breed at home :-)
Looks like I slept the chance over ;-) Price is low now.

It is because guys just figured out an easy ways
to multiply them rapidly...

The way is to once a month increase feedings to
3-4 times a week and after a week water change.
Then number of anemones will double as a result :-)
Supply is greatly increased and demand became smaller.
A usual reason for a price drop on a free market ;-)
