I have a lot of brown algea growing in my sand. I stir it up to get rid of
it, but it keeps coming back. I have Turbo Snail but they dont touch the
algea, they cling to the rocks and glass. Can someone offer a suggestion on
how to control the agrea, and how to clean up the sand..

Thanks

My hermits keep the sub pretty cleaned up. It seems to me that a
mixture of different snails with different habits seems to do the
trick. A bottom fish that stirs up the sand could be another option.
Whats the info on your tank?

What kind of water are you using for changes and top offs?

Also, have you checked your phosphate level?

I have a 75 gal tank/ 50 lbs of LR and Live sand.
I have a few damsels and 5 turbos (jumbo size) 2 real small hermits. ( the
tanks is new) Rock has been in there for roughly 9 months before adding
stock..
Can u recommened what to add, something to clean up the tank. I want to
eventually add 2 or 3 Percula Clown , yellow tang and perhaps a Hipo Tang
( over the course of the next 6 months or so)

Thanks for the help

A tank that size will require many more snails and hermits for
adequete cleanup. I have 40 snails in my 75, both margarita and
astreus. I have about 25 blue leg hermits.
You may want to rethink the Perculas. They get pretty
territorial, and more than one in any tank may result in fighting.

First is to check your water.

Next check your unit for any missing part.
RO = Sediment + Carbon [can have 2 or more] + Membrane
RODI = Sediment + Carbon [can have 2 or more] + Membrane + Dion [can be mix
or separate]

I think your unit is missing one important last stage.

Tangs do not mix well. A 75g is the minimum recommended size for tangs so
you should pic one or the other and go with that one, not both.
IME, clowns are okay if you get a pair.
