What is an acceptable alkalinity level range for a reef tank (with
small fish load and soft/lps and sps corals). Reason why i ask is im
heading away for a month and have been experiencing drops of around
1dkh per week. I usually aim for around 8dkh (as per NSW). Would it
upset things if i was to very slowly over a period of few days raise
it to about 11 with bi-carb before heading away?

No, it would not. Many people advise to keep alk little above NSW.

Hi Fred,
8 to 11 dKH is normal sea water level. Many run their alk even higher,
but I try to stay within that range. You should have no problem with it
being at 11dKH whne you leave town.
