i have a 180 gal. reef, i want to add a 6 line wrasse because i'm
seeing more & more bristleworms and i've been told they will go after
them, but i'm not sure if my black cap basslet will try an go after the
wrasse. anyone have any ideas if they will get along and if the wrasse
will really go after bristleworms.
thanks

I had both in my 66gal tank, the basslet could never come close to
catching the 6line!

I don't see why they wouldn't get along but sixlines are iffy with other
inverts. Why don't you just use a trap like "trap'em" to get the worms? Also,
I've read that bristle worms are now supposedly good as detrivores whichs bucks
the old wisdom. The DSB'ers here should know whether you ought to necessarily
get rid of them.

What is wrong with having bristleworms? They are natural detritus
eaters. If you hate them, you can get an Arrow Crab or a Long Nose
Hawkfish.

Is / are there any particular reason why you do not want bristleworm beside
population growth?
If it truly a bristleworm, it help to detris your DSB of any decay that may
cause nitrate. The only time I will recommend removing is when they get too
long / big.

I would like input on this. I was told Nesarius Snail were good for
controller detritus

I've actually watched an Arc-Eye (or Horseshoe) Hawkfish eat a hermit
crab, but my Long Nose has been a model citizen for years.

I think the problem is that y'all don't feed your tanks enough food! GRIN
