Other then PH, Alkalinity, Nitrate, Nitrite, and Ammonia, which would
be other important test kits to have?

thanks

I use the salifert brand for tests, it's pretty reasonable and much
better than the regular LFS tests.
I don't measure nitrite and ammonia any more, but keep an ammonia test
kit on hand.
I'd get a phosphate test kit aswell, this is one of those ones that can
sometimes creep up.
Testing once a month or whenever you think there are nutrient problems
is a handy thing.
If your testing you may as well to the Calcium test aswell.
That is probably all you need.
Go with the salifert (or better kits like Lamotte or even Hach) the
other cheapo kits are just crap and basing your maintenance on their
results is asking for trouble.
Good luck
Simon

Simon,

As you may have seen from my previous post, I did go out an buy the
Phosphate, Calcium and Silica. The brand I use is Aquarium
Pharmaceuticals. I hope their good, they weren't cheap.

thanks,
Oc

I'm not sure but at least it's a respected brand.
I'm sure their fine.
As long as the results are repeatable then your at least better then a
lot of kits precision is more important than complete accuracy, IMO anyway.]
With my old test I used to do three tests and average the results over
the three, with the salifert I usually just do it twice (the second is
just to confirm the first, I've never needed the third test since
switching brands.
Do the same tests with your kits and let us know what you think of them.
Thanks.
Simon
