Hi;

Does anyone see a potential problem with Caulerpa prolifera? I hear it is
not as likely as the other Caulerpas to go sexual and cloud the tank...what
are the warning signs if it does?

Thanks,
Dan

Dan,
Have you looked in to Cheatomorpha? Supposedly, it does not go sexual.

I got some Cheatomorpha from an outfit in Florida and all it did was rot
away. But the Prolifera piece that came with it as a hitchhiker grew like a
weed.

The few times it happened to me there was no signal....I went to bed and
when I woke up, the tank was green and the polifera was toast. What I now
do, is use 4 or 5 different variaties of caulerpa. I like the different
shapes and looks, plus if one species goes sexual, it's not enough to cause
any major problems.
