whenever I touch the water it feels like a small electric fence is zapping
me...is this caused by a faulty pump, or just bad ground from the plugin on
the wall?
any ideas other than a grounding probe? will a grounding probe stop it from
zapping >me<? could it be a wiring problem in the house?

You need to narrow down the cause. Unplug everthing. Add one plug at a time
and feel which causing this "zippy feeling".

i've already done that, and it -is- the mag drive..
I'm going to buy a new pump just cause I don't think it's wise having
electricity flowing through the water.

It never good to have any electricity in the tank.
