Look into plastic horse troughs at the local farm supply. Rubbermaid makes
a line that should give you water volume capacity with safety.
I use a couple 60 gallon vats (only 2/3 full with water) that were used to
store bulk candy at the bulk food shops. No problems after 6 years of
constant use.

RubberMaid makes a 44 gallon trash can. You can even buy a caddy with
casters. Works great and lasts a long time. But, I always see those 55
gallon plastic barrels for sale in the paper and they usually have a fitting
or two on them. They are usually between $6 and $10 bucks each.
