Just thought I'd share a recent LFS trip I made a couple days ago...

I went to Scales 'N' Tails in Burbank and was really impressed! I saw lots of
fish I don't normally see at my own LFS in Glendale and a very nice selection
of plants (with tanks that were well-lit and with plant-friendly gravel). This
was a real treat since none of the LFS all around me are nothing too special
(Tropical Imports in Glendale, my usual LFS, is actually okay though).

The fish atScales 'N' Tails all looked fantastic. They had lots of juvenile
discus in great shape that were absolutely gorgeous. There were Endler's
Livebearers (spectacular tiny fish!) which I've never seen before other than in
magazines and books, Siamese Algae Eaters, Amano Shrimp, Indian Dwarf Puffers,
and a ton more I can't remember. What I really liked about this place was that
many of their tanks were set up to look nice -- a lot of LFS I go to just have
the bare tanks with a plastic plant or treasure box thrown in, but nothing
aesthetically arranged. Someone at this store obviously spent a lot of tmie to
make many of the tanks look well-arranged with rocks, airstones, live plants,
driftwood...I had a hard time leaving!

If any of you are in the area and want to visit, their address is: 1720 West
Verdugo Avenue (in the Vons Shopping Plaza); Burbank, CA 91506. Phone: (818)
842-6496.

(Note: I don't work for them or are affiliated with them in any was except for
as a customer -- just happened to walk in while I was waiting for my eyeglasses
to be made at the Lenscrafters down the street) :)
