What is the best way to keep sand from clouding your tank, besides not using
it? :)
Is there some way to rinse it before you use it? Or do you just have to
live with it before it clears up?

TIA!

It's always darkest before dawn, so if you're going to
steal your neighbor's fish, that's the time to do it.

I took a wastepaper (about 18" high) put it in the kitchen sink. Got a 69
cent adapter to connect the sink and a small garden hose. Dumped in a
quarter of a bag of sterilized children's playbox sand. Keep the hose outlet
on the bottom of the basket. Turn the water on to medium . and wash sand
till it's clean. Letting the water overflow flow back into the sink. The
object being to let the dirt flow out of the basket while the sand never
makes it to the top of the basket to spill out.

Have the tank filled with water. And get a long funnel from an auto parts
store. Pour the sand into the bottom though the funnel.

If your careful the water doesn't cloud at all and the sand is 100% clean.
