I would estimate about 400 lbs. Since an empty 180g (72" x 24" x 25") weighs
338 lbs.
But I'll calculate it anyway. If a 180g weighs 338lbs, thats two sheets of
72" x 24", two of 24" x 25" and one of 72" x 25"
72 x 24 x 2 = 3456
24 x 25 x 2 = 600
72 x 25 = 1800
= 5856 sq inches of glass.
5856 sq in / 338 lbs = 17.325 sq inches of glass per lb.
220 gallon
72 x 24 x 2 = 3456
24 x 30 x 2 = 1440
72 x 30 = 2160
= 7056 sq inches of glass.
7056 sq in / 17.325 sq inches per lb = 407.77 lbs
220 gallon weighs 408 lbs

7056 sq in / 17.325 sq inches per lb = 407.27 lbs
220 gallon weighs 407 lbs

Marcus did quite a job calculating the weight, especially without knowing
the glass thickness (just extrapolated it). Six people would do it,
until you hit narrow hallways or stairs. Then it falls on 4 people
(which is tough). I'd walk the path and build a cradle if necessary
(like a Roman carriage carried by servants). There are also moving
straps which put the load on your shoulders instead of your fingers.
These let you use your hands to hold the tank upright, and you can carry
much more weight longer.

Hey thanks' for the tips..I think I'll rent one of those refriorator type
movers from U-haul; I have a 4 wheel dolly which might come in handy too.
Luckly It's going into the downstairs of my house which has an entrance from
the outside. Just a pool table to navigate over or round...I hope I can get
some more buddies to help out...But it's like moving day.. they become
scarce..lol "robbo" > wrote in message
