Hey all, My girlfriend and I have just returned from our Chicago
apartment/get a feel for the area/take a vacation trip. While there we
checked out the shedd aquarium, now I havent been to many larger aquatic
exhibits but this one took the cake. What I found most interesting was the
"fish of asia, australia, and india" exhibits, it was just amazingly cool to
see loaches and danio's that I had at home on display. But most impressive,
to me anyhow, was a 150g full of over 75 pictus catfish, now I truly have a
feel for what a school of pictus looks like. They basically stayed in one
huge revolving ball of whiskers and tails, really neat to see. They were
also approx. 3 inches long, so the math didnt exactly work out when
considering inch per gallon but Im sure of any place the shedd aquarium will
move them as they grow to larger displays. Anyway just wanted to share a
little bit of the experience, and if anyone wants to see a picture of the
pictus tank just post it in the response and Ill get it up asap. -Brian
