View Full Version : ? on Severums

I bought 2 yellow severums a month or so ago and after doing some
research on them could not find much. "Fish geeks" on line was the only
info I could find on them and even that was little to none. It said
that they get 6in and are ok as a community fish. I have them with
angels, gouramis, kribs, corys, a pleco and a rainbow shark. Does
anyone have any real info about them? Favorite foods? temperament as
they mature? Any info would be great.

Thanks,
Vicki

what size tank are they in?
they can become the dominant fishes in the tank if they are allowed to
assert their natural agression as cichlids.
or they may assume their place in the food chain if they are put in their
place.

I put two in a 55g. That was part of the "little" info I got.

Rather than just give you some information which may or may not answer your
specific questions, just look at green severums. The yellow, or gold,
severums are just a colour mutation, or morph. Care for both is identical
in all aspects. As with most cichlids, there can be a range of behaviour
patterns but with this one, no real extremes to worry about.
