It would help to know your definition of cold, and more specifics on
tankmates.
Any decent reference book will give preferred temperature ranges for
individual fish.

fantail goldfish is the tankmates ..
I just like the look of neon tetra's, but dont have a heated tank ..
Discovered i can get "sucking catfish" for cold water tho ..

Neon's need 68F or higher, and a steady temperature. The are not
normally kept with GF as they are expensive snacks which come from
opposite water parameters (soft acidic instead of hard alkaline). Dojos
are good bottom feeders for keeping with GF. Research Weather loaches.
