Hi,
Im looking for what the Americans call 'epoxy' which i want to use to coat
my fake polystyrene rocks after painting
Is this the stuff??
http://www.diy.com/bq/product/product.jhtml?PRODID=181668&CATID=71208
And is any paint suitable for painting polystyrene or is there a type of
paint that is better.
Just want to make sure.
Thanks
Mark

Nope, and I think this stuff would cause you a huge spike in pH and gH,
assuming there wasn't something in the accelerant which would be toxic
first. Visit your local marina. They will have the epoxy you seek. It
is a 2 part formula, consisting of a resin and a seperate bottle of
hardener. After curing, the material should be inert (fish safe). Only
the particular manufacturer can say for sure if their product is safe
though. You will know when you have the right stuff when you balk at the
expense ;~) AFAIK, FibreGlas will work as well, though I've never tried
it ymmv.

If coated with epoxy/fibreglas, then it's not as critical, but I would
avoid oil or laquer and go with a cheap latex with no fungicides. It's
what has worked for me, but ymmv.
