How often do platies breed?

I got my female and male back in early July. THe F is still not
pregnant yet (I can see through her: nothing inside). What is wrong?
The M chased F and moved his dick (G.. something) pointing to the F.
Is the F too young for sex? 2.5 inches now.

if conditions are good they should breed about every four weeks.
heh I wish mine would stop breeding :P

I agree, my platys were " at it " at every available opportunity. At one
time I thought the UK police might have raided my apartment and arrested me
on charges of running a house of ill repute. Seriously though, every time I
cleaned the filter medium, there were loads of little babies ( fish, not
human!!) bobbing about at the bottom of the bucket. Eventually this became a
very cheap and plentiful supply of live food for the other inhabitants of
the tank. I couldn't help feeling a bit sorry for the parents having to
watch this giant hand scoop their offspring into the main body of the tank
to be gobbled up, but I got over it!!
