Hello,
I already have one male betta.. I was offered another male betta from
someone who can't keep him... (moving)
I'm running out of tanks and tank space.. is it ok to put both betta in the
same tank (5 gal tank) with a mesh partition between them?
or would that be too cruel and stressful since they'll keep flaring at
eachother through the screen?

Decorate the tank with some tall plants, slate, etcetera, so that they don't
have to see each other all the time and they should be ok. Also, a glass or
acrylic divider would probably be better, and easier to keep clean.

Unless of course you meant rigid plastic grid. I was picturing mesh like the
stuff nets are made of.

yes. I was thinking about the rigid plastic grid type that will hold its
own shape...
seems like this is do-able. :-) now time to go shopping for the divider...

wow. what a clever idea! thank you for the web site! I'll probably make
good use of it! (I can easily house the betta in a smaller container until
the larger tank is ready! so this will help me a lot.. thank goodness for
labyrinth fish...)
