I added a blue linkia last Saturday to my 65g aquarium. I did the usual
float teh bag for 20m, then 1h of slow drip acclimation before i added
him to my tank. Well, the guy has gone completely missing. He was in the
tank on day 1 (Saturday), on Sunday he was hiding on the back side of
the rick (you could see one arm if you looked down the side of the tank)
and now I can't seem to find him anywhere.

I've got an orange linkia star (it's actually more red than orange) in
the same tank and he's always hangin out on the glass where you can see
him. Is this normal behavior for blue linkias?

Just wondering in Concord, NC...

Dunno, but its unreal how critters can hide so well in what seems to
be a system that you can see every nook and cranny in. I put two
rainfordi gobys in my one tank, and in a flash they both
dissapeared.....no matter how much I watched and watched they just
never reappeared, even days later. Then I just noticed a tiny bit of
movement on the face of a piece of rock. Heck the hole was only about
as big as the end of a pencil eraser, but sure enough that joker was
holed up inside the rock. Never did find where the other wa hiding,
even though I looked extra hard after I seen what a tiny place the
other one managed to get into, but they are both out and about now,
but at night its back to their tiny holes....

Are you sure the other is a linkia and not a fromia star? I hate it,
but I just can not seem to keep a star much over 9 to 12 months, and
then it falls apart. Guess they have cleaned out the sand bed and then
start to starve....Have heard Linkia are pretty hardy but its hard to
keep one alive much more than 12 to 18 months, unless you have a
huge tank......
