Hi..

Just try to cultivate bog plants in tiny acrylic green
houses on a window sill in our conservatory.

Gave each a 4W Lumilux fluorescent tube instead of a heater,
2.5-3cm (~1") sand with peat fiber and ~ 2cm snow water.

3 weeks ago I took some Ludwigia repensXpalustris, Rotala
rotundifolia and Lysimachia nummularia, removed some leafs
and stuck them into the sand. The lamps are burning 24h/d.
The water has been evaporated, but it's easy to keep sand
and air humid with snow water and I'm happy see the first
new (emerged?!?) leaf buds! :-)

Need them _emerged_ for the shallow water area of my summer
ponds in May and hope they will grow very fast.

[Fertilisation]:
Aquaria fertiliser? Garden fertiliser? Others? Any
experiences? What would you recommend?

And.., how do you other multiply your preferred plants?

Thanks in advance.

Doesn't matter for emersed growth. WHatever is cheap.

Cut the top off, replant.

Sure? An azalea hasn't the needs (substrate, fertiliser,
humidity) of a cactus, mine are bog plants and this is why
I took sand with some peat and try to keep the sand and the
air humid. I'm afraid they might possibly need a "poor"
bottom.

Wish emersed plants for ~2-3mē ..

Thanks.

Well, you're not trying to grow Azaleas or cactus though are you.

Any 20-20-20 fert. will do just fine.

Well, ya gotta cut something. Either the tops or by root division
if the plant grows in clups like irises. But for things like Ludwigia
jsut trim the tops and replant.
