Congratulations to all.
I have been lurking on rec.scuba for a while and find that group to be
absolutely obnoxious. Heatless attacks on unsuspecting newbies. and some
threads lasting over 250 posts just beating up anything and everything in
their path. The language is atrocious, I am offended even calling myself a
scuba diver and being related to those in that group.
I have seen more netiquette and patience here in the rec.aquaria groups than
any of my other hobbies.
You all deserve a standing ovation for helping those who never heard about
searching google groups, and the seemingly endless repetitive questions.
Thanks

I've been reading USENET on and off for the past seven years or so, and
the rec.aquaria tree is *by far* the most consistent in high quality
USENET discussion. We have an awesome community that's polite,
intelligent, and very active.
*Very* few other groups can claim that! Hats off to everyone.

A Pope has a Water Cannon. It is a Water Cannon.
He fires Holy-Water from it. It is a Holy-Water Cannon.
He Blesses it. It is a Holy Holy-Water Cannon.
He Blesses the Hell out of it. It is a Wholly Holy Holy-Water Cannon.
He has it pierced. It is a Holey Wholly Holy Holy-Water Cannon.
He makes it official. It is a Canon Holey Wholly Holy Holy-Water Cannon.
Batman and Robin arrive. He shoots them.

I agree. I'm a long-term Usenet follower and am delighted to find there
seem to be no spoilers in the aquaria groups, as is almost always the case
in other areas that I follow regularly. What a pleasant change it is.
Maybe fishkkeeping promotes serenity.

I agree that this is one of the nicest groups I have ever posted in. I
used to post in an American Civil War group and the flames soon got old.
As a frequent poster here I also have to congratulate everyone who makes
this group what it is, a nice place to hang. I look forward to many
more years of posting and helping people out as much as my limited
knowledge is able.
Thanks y'all
Vicki
Hey thanks for the heads up about the scuba news group. I will make
sure I don't go in there.
