Help needed please folks. A beautiful white sailfin molly I bought three
days ago has developed a very sore lip. Both my wife and I noticed that
her lip seemed large after the first day, but this morning I noticed it is
red and enlarged and has little stringy bits hanging off it. It looks very
sore. She's holding her mouth open a lot, but is still eating and otherwise
seems ok--top fin is still up. I've started with a course of melafix but
don't know if thats really what I should be doing. (The other three mollys
bought at the same time are all fine.) Any advice you can give based on
this inadequate description will be much appreciated

That sounds like what I would be doing in your situation. My silver
lyretails are both gorgeous and having babies as we speak! They are very
attractive for livebearers ;-) Also salt... do you have any in the tank? If
it does't have fish that can't stand salt in it I would highly recommend
adding salt to the tank.

anyway i will just add melafix daily and pray to my higher power that
something good happens
