View Full Version : Compatability of Dwarf Frogs?

October 21st 03, 08:18 PM
I've got a 1" Kuhli, and a 1" Pleco in a 15 Gal tank, with an average
temperature of 78f, and an unknown PH.

Is this a suitable environment to add a couple of dwarf froggies?

I can imagine the pleco might be 1" - ancistrus are sold as
"bristlemouth pleco" or whatever, so that might be what he means.

Maybe he means the kuhli is 1" fat :-)

I got the Kuhli years ago... I believe he is called a "Black Kuhli". From
what I understand, this size is quite normal. He may be 1.5".

The pleco is a clown Pleco. He's fairly young, but I was told he wouldn't
get bigger than 3".

That explains the Pleco, but I've never seen such a small Kuhli..of either
color variation.
It must be so cute!
I've seen baby common Plecos at one of my LFS's. They were just about the
cutest things I've ever seen.
My daughter, who also loves them and refers to them as "Dragons",
yelled..."Look at all those cute baby Dragons, Mom!"
Luckily they were in with Mom in their own, very large tank. They were about an
inch and a half long. I've never seen ones that small ever again.

The kuhli is 1.75" - Forgive me, I'm not good with the American measuring
system.

Well, I'm not sure what those fish are, cause I am a newbie to fish tanks,
but I have two frogs in a tank with a Bali shark and a gromi and one male
guppie and a bottom sucky fish that I dont remember the name of, but I dont
have any troubles at all. In fact does anyone know where I can find any
information of dwarf frogs and breeding them?

I used to have dwarf frogs and this site was really helpful:

Do a Google search and you'll get lots of sites!

What size tank do you have?
If you have a Bala Shark, I hope it's a big one.
Also....You're sure you have the African Dwarf Frogs, and not the African
Frogs?
You can check by looking at their front feet. The Dwarfs have webbing in
between their toes and the others do not. Both have the webbing on their back
feet.
