I've had one white cloud mountain minnow for about a half year, and it's
always seemed to have an upper lip that looked a bit deformed ... kind of
like it's always sticking up, Billy Idol style. That fish has always acted
fine, so I never worried about it. Today, I noticed a white bump has grown
in the small area between the fish's eye and his upper lip. It's not a white
spec, like ick, it's a larger white bump. The fish is still active and
doesn't show any signs of being sick.
Would this white bump likely be some kind of tumor on the fish? Could it be
caused by anything contagious that could affect my other fish in the tank?
I'm hoping it's just some kind of genetic defect in the fish that he was
born with, since his lips have always looked a bit odd, and no other fish
are showing any similar symptoms.
Any advise would be appreciated!!
