View Full Version : Question on tank lighting

October 22nd 03, 04:19 PM
I've got a 15Gal Freshwater tank w/ 1 Kuhli and 1 Clown pleco. I'm hoping
to get 2 dwarf frogs soon.

It's obvious these fellows prefer dark to light, so I have to ask myself why
I'm using aritificial lighting (6" fluoro day-glo) in the tank.

Is lighting necessary for them in some way, or am I just inconveniencing the
little fellas?

AFAIK, lighting is basically for you, and for any live plants which you
are trying to grow. A bit of indirect lighting (from a window) will
usually provide sufficient light contrast for them to establish their
daily sleep cycle.
