I introduces 2 skunk loaches (1.5cm) to a tank with guppies, cory's and
neons. Previously peaceful tank now looks like a war zone. Cory's looking
ragged with torn fins, neons and guppies with half their tails missing...
and the skunks zipping around together and making lots of clicking
noises...( did I get a pair?)

I hadn't read anything about them being aggressive. Any comments?

Looks like you didn't do your homework... skunk loaches are *very*
aggresive.

I'm not sure if it's agressive, but very playful. The first couple months,
mine terrorized the tank in their game of tag trying to get everyone into
the game. As they got older, they relaxed, only play with themselves now.
They're currently in the peaceful tank, with platties and platty fry,
tetras, corys, danios. They don't bother anyone anymore.
I had an agressive very overweight 5" yoyo (looked like the goodyear blimp),
I moved him into the tank with the skunks as he was injuring other fish in
his tank. The skunks had him whipped back into shape, and behaving after a
couple weeks. He's now back in his original tank, healthy as can be, and
friendly towards other tank mates.

I added 5 skunk loaches to my 125G planted tank about two years ago. They
raised heck for a couple of months. Now they have established a pecking
order amongst themselves and rarely bother the other fish -- even though
they chase each other all the time. As a matter of fact, the terror of my
tank (when the big pleco is asleep) is my lone sunset platy. Just 30
seconds before I responded to this post, I watched that platy chase away the
biggest skunk loach in my tank. *GRIN*
