Someone Please Help . I have discovered that my fishtank has hundred's of
tiny white worms crawling all over the place. Especially on the glass. They
are about 2 milimiters long, some are ven smaller. Is this a desease or
it's normal?

i have 55 gallon tank with two plants and two porus stones. Adeqate amount
of gravel. In terms of fish i have two oscars, one algae eater, two catfish
and one parrot. PH is neutral amonia is 0.

I would really appreciate your help.
regards

Alex

They are not a disease, but generally indicate a bit too much feeding with
not enough gravel vacuuming.

yep deinitely planaria. I had this (and still do a little) in my
10gallon tank. Toni's advice is good. If you have any plants in the
tank, remove them and give them a damn good wash. Also wipe the insides
of the tank and then do a huge water removal.

If you can move all your fish out of the tank into another, you
could always try raising the temperature to about 105degrees F for
a day or so as this will kill the little gits too. Unfortunately for
me, this wasn't an option, and I still see the odd wriggly planaria worm
in the tank. They are harmless but if you have LOADS they can get into
the fish's gills and irritate them.

So there you have it Alexey... you feed too much and don't clean enough!!!
So do I on occasion... either way the worms will die off, be eaten or go
back to the gravel sooner or later.

I've never had to do anything this drastic in any tank, all I do is reduce
feeding for a week or 2, and the fish eat them. I have done this a dozen
plus times over the years, the most drastic thing I've done is an extra
gravel vac.

My Black Moors can't see them (I think). I still see the odd little
wriggly planaria. I did stop feeding my fish for about 5 days -
didn't make a lot of difference to my tank, so I ended up doing massive
water change to get rid of some of them.

I don't think cutting back the frequency of feeding your fish is good...
Just the quantity you feed to them.
