Hi everyone,

I'm looking to build a hood for my 55g tank so that I can get some more
light into it to grow some plants. My question is, what kind of finish
should I use on it to match my tank? The tank has black trim, and it's on a
black Walmart stand, which is suprisingly good looking.
I would like to use 4 compact fluorescent lights. Right now I just have
the two stock fluorescents that came with it.

Thanks for the help,

Bob

Go for an oil-based enamel. Tough, hard as nails, you can get a good color
match as well. It's a good choice for things that may get moist, and/or take
a little abuse. Stay away from latex, it's more likely to chip as it ages.
