Hello,

I have two eheim external filters on my 250 liters tank. I'm "used to"
having the classic type which you could pull apart and clean each individual
part. Now however I have the "no maintanance" type, but find that after a
year of operation, only cleaning the inside of the canister and changing
filter material. But I now notice that the capacity of the filters are much
lower than they used to be.... I can't see it says anything in the manual
about how to clean, if at all possible, the top part with the "engine"
itself, and a search on the Internett haven't provided me with too much
useful information about this.

Any tips on how to clean/maintain this filter better than I have done uptil
now?

They ar both labelled "professional", one is dimensioned for a 200 l tank,
the other for a 350 l tank.

I have 2 Eheim 2320 Pro units, and to disassemble it, flip over the "power"
unit, and find the 'disk'. This should rotate and pop out, much like
removing the ball of your mouse. Use care, but clean all parts as well as
the interior of the cavity.

Thanks for the reply. I found I could lift the fan, take it apart and
cleaned out a lot of gunk in there. I also used a brush to clean the holes
and tubes and everywhere I could fit it. Also the valves that keep the water
in the tank when removing the filter needed a clean. It seems to be working
fine again!
