Hi folks, I'd like to get a cheap canister filter for my daughter's 4'
goldfish tank. The two likely choices are a Jebo 815 (1000 lph) or a Resun
AE308 (900 lph). She complains about the cost of filters for her hang-on
filter. Any advice which of these would be cheapest to maintain much
appreciated. Also, of course, any comments on which is preferable for other
reasons. Thanks.

Can't recommend either of the two, but had a Q about the hang-on filter.
I use Hagen Aquaclear 500/300/150/mini filters and haven't bought
anything for them in over a year. I use the two-sponge system,
squeezing the bottom one out every water change and putting it back on
top. This keeps one sponge seeded with all those good bacteria. I guess
in some models, this wouldn't be an option. Just curious about your
situation.
