Hi All!
Well, if it's not one problem, it's another.
25 gallon tank
2 Mollies
1 Betta
2 Guppies
1 Pleco (don't criticize the Pleco!)
2 Bolivian Rams
My Betta is covered in Ich.
I've been treating with Quick Cure for a few days now with limited
success.
However, what started as Ich has turned into something far worse.
His fins are all shriveling up in front of my eyes! Pieces are falling
off and floating around the tank.
In my opinion, in addition to Ich, it looks like there is some kind of
bacterial/fungal infection in the tank.
I put some Furan-2 into the tank today, and I have three more doses to
go.
However, the Ammonia levels in the tank are starting to climb.
Questions:
1. I figure Furan-2 is an antibiotic and is killing my cycled
ecosystem. Can I mix Amquel, Quick Cure, and Furan-2 at the same time?
2. I bough cycle a few weeks ago. Once the treatment is complete, will
it be as though my tank started from scratch and need to cycle all
over again? Should I put the cycle in during treatment - or is the
bacteria going to die the second it hits the water?
3. How will I know when the Furan-2 treatments can stop?
4. How will I know when the Quick Cure treatments can stop?
