I've read that Garra pingi are good algae eaters, but the article didn't
have much info. Does anyone here know how big they get? If they are
agressive ? Any special requirements ?
Thanks in advance ;

After some more searching I found this info :
Native to the Mekong river, Southeast Asia
Temp. requirements : 12 to 26 C
Eats algae opportunistically; but prefers insects, worms, and other small
organisms , may eat dead or diseased fish
Grows to 30-40 cm, not suitable for aquaria due to size
territorial towards other bottom dwellers
may attack cyprinids, including goldfish
Only good feature : not a significant danger to humans.
I'm still searching for something to eat " the black hair algae of doom "
any other ideas ?

Ameca Splendens. Can get aggressive, tho. Depends on your tankmates.
Also eats fragile plants. Mine did wonders on the hair algae... then
the hygro, then the cabomba... Compatability wise was good with small
cichlids, faster rasboras, barbs. Had the occasional stand-off with my
neolamp brichardi, but no-one got hurt.
