View Full Version : Eheim filter Venturi question

I have an Eheim Aquaball 2208 filter, that comes with a Venturi adaptor that
bubbles air into the outflow, resulting in a stream of bubbles and a fast
current when the flow is restricted by turning the flow adjuster. It worked
for a while, but as the filter became gunked up, the flow slowed down and so
the bubbles stopped. I cleaned out the filter, and the current speeded up
again. Then it gets gunked up, etc etc. Past couple of times I've cleaned
the filter now, the air bubbles don't come out any more. It is a pain to
have the filter just agitate the surface to get air mixed with the water, as
it is noisy, but the Venturi is whisper quiet. Any ideas how to fix?

I haven't a clue. I bought the exact same filter a couple of months ago and
absolutely hate the thing! It's totally rubbish! My air venturi has never
worked but as I bought it online it's too much of a hassle to send it back
and wait for another so I'm going to buy myself a good old reliable Fluval
after Christmas - never have any trouble with them.
I have the Eheim in a fairly new tank and the water in it never looks
crystal clear (although it tests fine), whereas all my other tanks look
spotless with the same maintenance. I couldn't be more dissapointed with it.
