A few months ago I purchased this fish from a local store, it all on all its
own and about to be purchased by some kids, so thought I could give it a
better home :-) Its grown quite a bit, and gets on well with the others.
Still not quite sure what it is though, chances are its just a normal
goldfish, the people in the shop wasn't too sure. The pictures are the best
I could get, and are at the following URL, I would be grateful if someone
could help me identify the fish.

Looks to me like a common goldfish. The black striping is the
remainder of its coloration fading, it will turn to pink. This is a
normal color change in progress.
The fish looks healthy, enjoy it.

Well, I can almost guarantee it's a cyprinid, so you're in the right family
at least. It may possibly be a golden orfe, or a albino goldfish or other
sport. I would probably have labeled it a goldfish and left it at that
except for the interesting fin coloration, which I've never come across
before in goldfish. If it turns out to simply be a goldfish sport, you
might want to try breeding it and see if you can retain that coloration.

Not sure myself, I'm shocked to not be able to find any info on that fish.
Looks like a classic goldfish, but the black on its fins make me wonder...Oh
well, If I had to guess, I would say it is a goldfish. There are so many
variations of them who can keep up?

Looks like a common GF - I have several feeder fish that have grown up
to be big beasties that have all kinds of genetic variations. One has
the body and tail of an oranda. These are usually the result of
improper breeding & are half breeds. Some of my research suggests that
these are usually culled by fish breeders, but with the advent of mass
breeding for the pet market, many get through. I say, if it looks
pretty and it isn't suffering let it grow :- )
