Just checked my 20 gallon to make sure everything was ok. With the holidays
I've just had time to feed them and not observe for the last few days.
Tonight I took the time to relax and do a fish head count when I noticed one
of my 2 gold barbs has a nasty red sore on it's side. The sore is depressed
rather than raised or swollen and I can't think of something to compare it
to size wise, but I'd say the diameter is smaller than a US dime, but bigger
than a pea. The fish seems to be acting normal, but the other gold barb
looks like it's pestering the one with the sore a little bit.
Is this sore a disease or from the other barb picking on it? They've been
tank mates for close to 2 years now so why would one be picking on the other
all of a sudden?
Other fish in the tank are: 2 dwarf gouramis, 1 cherry barb, 2 coreys, 3
neons, 1 black neon, 3 lamp eye tetras, 1 otocinclus.
Thanks for your help!
