I'm a bit concerned about the state of my Corydoras (4 x Bronze Catfish and
6 x Virginae) in a 400 litre aquarium.
When first introduced they were all extremely active - dive bombing
together - rocketing to the surface followed by kamikaze strikes to the
bottom of the tank and generally enjoying themselves. Then I introduced 2 x
mature Golden Gouramis and because of their maturity caused serious problems
with other fish. I returned them to my LFS and thought that would change the
situation - no such luck - the Cory's still hide in the undergrowth - and
although they are eating well, there is not the activity seen previously. I
have to be honest and say that over the Christmas/New Year period I have not
been as diligent with my housekeeping as I should have been (20% water
changes every two weeks - fresh food once per week etc). My life style is
such that the aquarium is located in my 'Chill out room' and I use this for
maybe one/two hours per day. Maybe there is a disturbance factor but that
doesn't apply to other fish.
Any comments or suggestions are most welcome.
Thanks - Dave
