cloudy water

my tank is still new. I started it on 12-24-03. I have done 2 partial
water changes. The first about 3 gal the second 5. After the first the
water cleared for about 2 days then got cloudy. After the second, 01-02-04,
the water still has not cleared. Am I just being impatient?? Is there any
thing I can do?? The tank houses 2 Silver Dollars, 3 Tetras, (don't know
what type) 1 Guarami and 1 Clown Loach.

1. www.thekrib.com - read and research as much as possible..
2. look into some bio-spira - it contains bacteria you need to breakdown
what's happening in your tank
3. test your water, either buy a kit or have your lfs test it... it is
NECESSARY....

as for the cloudy water, it's normal, but inhumane to make the fish swim in
a toxic bath, which is what's happening... feel good about buying fish
without know what to do? READ... we've all been there, but the sad part is
the poor little clown loach will probably die because he's not setup with
what's necessary to make it... take him back, the others will make it or
help you come thru this, hopefully with some books and time, you'll get a
handle on it...

my new tank was cloudy when I first started,my LFS advised me to use
microwool,it's like cotton wool and you put it in the fIlter,cleared the
water up a treat.It's not expensive and is easy to use.When the water is
clear you take it out of the filter.
